FUNDRAISING FAQ

Can I use the Children’s Hospital of Illinois logo?

We do grant the use of the Children’s Hospital logo depending on the nature of the fundraiser. Our Annual Fund Department must review all intended uses of the Children’s Hospital of Illinois logo or name before it is distributed.

When will I know if my event is approved?

You will be contacted seven to ten days after your fundraising application is submitted to our office.

Can Children’s Hospital of Illinois cover the costs of the event?

We are extremely grateful for the amount of community support we receive. However, we cannot agree to cover the expenses of your event. However, our office can provide guidance in budget preparation, solicitations for sponsorships and receiving in-kind donations so costs stay minimal.

Can people who donate to my fundraiser receive a tax write off?

Our office can provide the fundraising organization with a thank you letter template including the 501(c)3 information for Children’s Hospital of Illinois Foundation. This information will be necessary for your donors to claim their donation on their tax records.

Can someone from Children’s Hospital of Illinois Foundation speak at my fundraiser?

We will do our best to accommodate any requests to speak at your fundraiser. Because of the large demand on staff support from the community, we can't guarantee attendance.

Who should donors of the Fundraiser make a check payable to?

Your donors can make the check payable to Children’s Hospital of Illinois Foundation.

Can I direct the funds from the Fundraiser to one specific unit or purpose, e.g., research, social services, therapy programs?

Your wishes are important to our foundation. We have many restricted funds already set up and welcome the opportunity to discuss how you would like your donation to make a difference in the lives those who need medical assistance from  Children’s Hospital of Illinois.
